Artisan Crafts / Metal Work

This bike was done up just to be a beater bike my brother could ride to school and not have to worry about. But we still had to put in a little bit of style. So this was just a basic beach cruiser bike (you can buy them at WalMart) we had laying in our backyard, along with the rims and handlebars (both from other projects) that we cleaned up and used. The brown looking paint is actually flat red oxide spraypaint and all the black is glossy black spraypaint. I thought the glossy and flat played off of each other well as did the black rims and the whitewall tires and the textured seat witht he flat paint. Our basic style going on: banana seat, ape hangers, springer front end, sissy bar (hand made by me.)

I love it. The bike's color, painted springer front end, and black handlebars really give it a rat rod feel. The sissy bar is cool, but I don't like the way it bends and trails off at a 90 degree angle at the bottom.
